In his quest to deliver some of the gnarliest garage punk out there, The Lords Of Altamont (and current Sonics member) main man Jake Cavaliere has seen his fair share of ups of downs, but one thing can be certain, his band always delivers the goods, and on their newest release, TLOTA do what they always done, which is kick out the jams, early and often.  After five albums and 17 years, they show no signs of slowing down as The Wild Sounds Of The Lords Of Altamont is just as wild and raucous as anything in their catalog.

Cavaliere’s snotty, sneering vocals are in fine form, along with his playing of the keys. Guitarist Dani Sindaco provides gnarly fuzzed-out riffs along with ripping solos, that slash and burn, while the rhythm section of bassist Rob Zimmerman and drummer Steve Van Der Werff keep pushing the tempo, sending everything over the edge.

It launches into action with “Like A Bird” and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down until the final strains of “Where Did You Sleep”. In between you get high energy rockers such as “Been Broken”, “Going Downtown” and “Death On The Highway”, along with more mid paced stompers such as “(It Ain’t) Revolution” and “Take A Walk”.

The Wild Sounds Of The Lords Of Altamont is an album made for cruising down the highway at high speeds or raging in the club with a bunch of other rock n roll loving maniacs. It’s one of the best pure garage punk albums you’ll hear this year. So what are you waiting for? Get down with their high octane sound.
